Session 2: Importance of Education

<aside> 💡 TSW prioritizes the women & girls education and empowerment to combat human rights violations including forced marriages and human trafficking. Almost half of Nepal’s young female population is married before they are 18 years old, and it is estimated that every year, from 15,000-20,000 Nepalese girls (42% of which are minors) are trafficked. Listen to the podcast below to learn about the issue of human trafficking in Nepal, its intersections with discrimination and racism of indigenous and Dalit populations (i.e. Hindu caste perceived at the bottom of society's hierarchy).

After listening to the podcast, write down any questions you would like to find the answers to while in Nepal.
